We can then extrapolate these weaknesses and determine which controls need to be tightened, if certain risks require implementing additional process-level controls (e.g., we cannot rely on back-end or mitigating controls in order to satisfy the control objectives), or in many cases, get a jump start on remediation testing prior to BOD meetings.

The great thing about PIQ is that everything can be linked together. Hence, it makes the most sense for us to keep any exceptions segregated to the individual audits (i.e. testing pages).

We have long seen (and, therefore recommended) clients tracking their Design and Operating conclusions on their Control pages. Many also have a field on their Control pages where they indicate whether a Deficiency has been identified. In the configuration that we covered in our training session, Risks and Controls are captured separately and carried over multiple testing periods. It seems, then, that we would not want or recommend that clients track anything on the Control page that is specific to a testing period. Would you agree? Do you track these conclusions on your Test pages only?

Thank you (in advance) for helping me to better understand!

There's nothing like fingers on the keyboard to really learn an application.
